Créée à la fin du XIXe siècle, la société Schappe a construit sa réputation sur son savoir-faire dans la filature de la soie. Par la suite, cette même technicité lui a permis d'opérer avec succès sa mutation dans le domaine des fibres artificielles et synthétiques. Dans les années 80, ce même souci de l'innovation l'a conduite à maîtriser la transformation des fibres synthétiques de deuxième génération. Schappe Techniques était née, et avec elle, les Filés de Fibres Techniques. Schappe’s technical expertise was established in the late XIXth century and was based upon its know-how concerning the spinning of silk yarns. Using the latest innovations, Schappe technicians have applied this same technology to the processing of newer synthetic materials and today are using the same skills for the spinning of the latest generation of advanced synthetic fibres. Created to coincide with the increasing demand for high performance yarns, Schappe Techniques has now become a modern reality and is today acknowledged as a major producer of high performance spun yarns produced from a wide range of advanced fibres.
